On September 18, 2025, the American Immigration Council’s Coverage Director, Nayna Gupta, delivered testimony at a Shadow Listening to hosted by U.S. Consultant Pramila Jayapal (WA-07), Rating Member of the Subcommittee on Immigration, Integrity, Safety, and Enforcement.
The listening to, Kidnapped and Disappeared: Trump’s Assault Destroys U.S. Households and Communities, is the third in Rep. Jayapal’s collection analyzing the devastating human prices of deportation.
In her testimony, Gupta highlighted how deportation insurance policies:
- Tear aside households and destabilize communities
- Undermine due course of and equity within the U.S. immigration system
- Weaken the values of justice and dignity that ought to outline America
