I lately went on a spring break trip on my own and I liked it! I had the privilege to journey to each Melbourne and Sydney inside 9 days and I had a blast. Melbourne and Sydney had been excessive on my record of locations to go to as quickly as I knew I used to be coming to Australia – they’re huge bucket record locations for thus many individuals around the globe and now I do know why.

Melbourne was my first vacation spot, and I used to be there for 4 days! My first impression of town was that it was a really busy, younger, and hip metropolis with a lot of completely different actions happening. It felt quite a bit like NYC to me. It was most certainly busier than regular as a result of it was through the Easter vacation weekend, however it was busy nonetheless. On my first day in Melbourne, I explored Stevenston Road, the Melbourne Botanical Gardens, the Yarra River space, and Flinder’s Sq. for dinner!

My second day in Melbourne consisted of strolling everywhere in the metropolis with strolling excursions and exploring by myself! I’d extremely suggest a strolling tour of Melbourne as a result of I used to be capable of be taught a lot historical past and see so many sights that I’d not have found by myself. The town of Melbourne has a lot graffiti in all the completely different alleyways, and it has lovely church buildings scattered all through town. The town has a really historic really feel to it, which was very enjoyable to discover.

My third and fourth days have been my most enjoyable days. I explored the Melbourne Zoo by myself, which was so enjoyable, in addition to going to the highest of a sightseeing constructing! The views of Melbourne and town middle look quite a bit smaller if you find yourself up that top! My final day in Melbourne consisted of testing the well-known Queen Victoria Market and spending the afternoon at St. Kilda Seashore! Melbourne was so enjoyable to discover and is the place for you in the event you like a busy and fast-paced space!

On the other finish of the spectrum, Sydney delivered the stress-free and beachy vibes that I used to be searching for! I stayed at a hostel in Bondi Seashore which was the proper vacation spot for exploring this metropolis. Enjoyable truth, in Australia, hostels are quite common for individuals to remain in – even adults! Highlights from town middle are: the Sydney Opera Home, the Sydney Harbor Bridge (and Pylon Lookout), all of the fantastic eating places alongside the Sydney Harbor, and the Botanical Gardens. I liked the Sydney Opera Home and located myself watching it for thus lengthy simply admiring its magnificence.

If you’re touring to Sydney, I’d suggest just a few extra spots to take a look at: Bondi to Coogee stroll, taking a ferry to Manly Seashore, swimming within the Bondi Icebergs, and naturally, the Artwork Gallery of New South Wales! The Bondi to Coogee stroll is a 4-mile hike alongside the coast of NSW, and it’s so price it and so lovely! One other enjoyable truth: plenty of museums and artwork galleries are free right here! Swimming within the Bondi Icebergs was one of many coolest actions I did on my journey and I can’t suggest it sufficient!

The controversy continues whether or not Sydney or Melbourne is best, however it’s arduous to decide on! In order for you rest and seashore vibes, Sydney is town for you; if hustle and bustle is extra your fashion, Melbourne is the one for you. Sydney and Melbourne each have distinctive traits that make them each so likable. They will cater to completely different facets you’re searching for in a trip, and I’d extremely suggest visiting them!

I solely have a bit of over 6 weeks right here earlier than I head again house, which is loopy! Time does go by so quick, so I’m ensuring I’m absorbing each little bit of this expertise as I can!

Till subsequent time! 🐨
